1. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO JOIN US?
In mid 2014 after learning that I had Type 2 diabetes, I started to make major changes in my lifestyle. I had seen how my mother suffered from diabetes-related illnesses and I didn’t want to go down that path, if I could help it. I did not want land-based exercise as the hard impact on my knees would only give me an easy excuse not to carry on with an exercise regime. I started to look for water-based exercise, signing up for aqua aerobics first. Then I noticed that Aquaspin was available too. I didn’t know much about it but since it is in the water, I thought, “why not”? That was how I met Yannick and Alicia.
2. WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT AQUASPIN?
Firstly, I love being in the water. So exercising in water is the best form of workout for me. Secondly, I love, love, love the challenge every time I get on the bike. It is always a tough fight –– just me against the water. After each session, I get a sense of wellbeing that is hard to describe. Thirdly, the Aquaspin team’s friendliness, professionalism and enthusiasm make each session fun and enjoyable.
3. THE BENEFITS YOU’VE HAD WORKING OUT WITH AQUASPIN?
Physically I have lost weight, (10 kg within 12 months, based on exercise combined with a healthy diet), and gained a fitter and more toned physique. Mentally I feel much more alert, energised and happy. I sleep better. I don’t have any aches and pains. Overall, I feel like a much improved version of myself. The best part is that I no longer have diabetes! Yayyhhh!!!
4.WOULD YOU RECOMMEND AQUASPIN TO OTHER PEOPLE?
Absolutely, without hesitation. My husband, daughters, relatives and friends have all tried Aquaspin. Now my husband and niece join me regularly at Shangri-La and YWCA.
